Ocular Disorder Treatment

There are numerous ocular disorders we commonly diagnose, treat, and help patients manage here in our office. We understand that eye disorders can have a major impact on your quality of life, which is why we employ the latest advancements in eye care treatment technology to ensure you receive the proper care.

Glaucoma and cataracts are both common ocular disorders we see and treat in our office. Glaucoma is a serious eye condition often suffered by those who have been diagnosed with diabetes. It occurs when excessive pressure develops behind the eye’s lens, which can lead to not only eye pain, but permanent vision loss as well. If you’ve been dealing with unexplained eye pain or vision loss (especially if you’ve also been diagnosed with diabetes), we highly recommend you schedule an appointment with us.

Cataracts is another common eye condition, particularly in those age 60 and older. Cataracts occur when the lens of the eye becomes cloudy. This can happen in multiple small areas or in one large area. Either way, cataracts can lead to blurred vision and even vision loss, and are most often caused by sun exposure. Here in our office, we can monitor cataracts and treat them if they become a significant threat to your vision.

Dry eye is another condition we see often in our office. While it may seem like a minor enough ocular disorder, it can become extremely debilitating when left untreated. Many people with dry eye describe the feeling of having grits of sand or other debris lodged in the eye, so it can be very painful and can also affect a person’s vision. One common treatment we find effective for alleviating dry eye is the use of prescription eye drops to help lubricate and moisturize the eyes. In some cases, contact lens wear may be to blame, and special contacts for dry eyes may be helpful.

In addition to the aforementioned ocular disorders we treat, we also treat many other disorders related to systemic disorders as well as the following:

  • blurred vision
  • eye pain
  • eye infections
  • macular degeneration
  • diabetic retinal disease
  • optic nerve disorders

If you’re experiencing any symptoms of eye disorders, don’t put off scheduling an appointment with our team so we can evaluate your symptoms, determine your diagnosis, and provide you with the treatment you need.
